Prestige award winner for Live Music Venue of the Year – London & South East
The Prestige Awards recognise outstanding small and medium-sized businesses that have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and exceptional customer service over the past 12 months.
We are delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Misty Jade, whose vision and dedication have transformed the historic chapel at Penge Congregational Church into an extraordinary musical salon.
Through her work with Music That Lives, Misty Jade has created something truly unique: an intimate and atmospheric space where exceptional musicians, composers and audiences can come together to experience music in an environment unlike any conventional concert hall.
This Prestige Award for Live Music Venue of the Year is a wonderful acknowledgement of the creativity, determination and passion that have gone into bringing the Music That Lives Salon to life.
More than simply a beautiful room illuminated by candlelight and surrounded by remarkable instruments, the Salon is about preserving and celebrating a living musical heritage. Every recital, every artist who crosses its threshold and every note that resonates through the chapel adds another chapter to its story.
Many of the rare and valuable instruments featured within the Salon carry an extraordinary history.
Their future is uncertain, making each opportunity to hear them played all the more precious. Music That Lives seeks to ensure that these instruments, their stories and the music they inspire continue to be experienced and appreciated while they can still be heard.
The transformation of the chapel into this distinctive salon is therefore not simply about creating a venue for concerts. It is about creating a legacy — bringing together historic instruments, contemporary composers, extraordinary performers and audiences in a space where music can truly live.
We are immensely proud that Misty Jade's vision has received this recognition, and grateful to everyone who has supported Music That Lives along the way.
