Critically acclaimed virtuoso pianist Tyler Hay presents the launch of his new album dedicated to the music of John Field.
Tyler will perform works by Frédéric Chopin, John Field and Misty Jade, culminating in Liszt's monumental Piano Sonata in B minor.

Tyler Hay was born in 1994 and first showed a prodigious talent for the piano when he won the Dennis Loveland award in Kent for his performance of Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz no 1 at the age of 11. He gained a place to study at the Purcell School in 2007 where he studied under Tessa Nicholson. He continued his studies with Graham Scott and Frank Wibaut at the Royal Northern College of Music and with Niel Immelman and Gordon Fergus-Thompson for a Masters degree at the Royal College of Music.
Tyler has performed programmes at Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Purcell Room and has played Ravel’s Concerto for Left Hand Alone at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto no 2 at Symphony Hall with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
In 2016, Tyler won first prize in the keyboard section of the Royal Overseas League Competition and as well as winning the RNCM’s Gold medal competition, also won first prize in the Liszt Society International Competition.
Tyler won 1st prize in the Dudley International Piano Competition in November, 2022. CDs of Liszt, John Ogdon, Kalkbrenner and Field are available on Brilliant Classics and an album of virtuoso piano music by contemporary British composer Simon Proctor is also available on Navona Records.

The concert will also feature two other talented local musical performers,

and Minutes from Home
a beautifully harmonic ukulele band.

White Knight's production of Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Gondoliers' on 20th September features a cast of professional singers and an invited chorus. Admission is free, with a retiring collection in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Join us for a the sparkling story of two handsome gondoliers who find that one of them is really the long-lost King of Barataria: they just don't know which.
White Knight presents a semi-staged concert version at 7pm on
Sunday 20th September 2026.

Gilbert and Sullivan's sunniest opera is full of witty lyrics and delightful music, including well-known numbers like -
Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes, Regular Royal Queen and the Cachucha.

About Disasters Emergency Committee:
Over the past year, conflict in the Middle East has devastated lives across the region, and millions have fled their homes in search of safety. Right now, millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care. DEC member charities are on the ground saving lives in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank, providing food, water, shelter, medicine and so much more.

Do you love Gilbert and Sullivan? Are you an experienced singer?
White Knight is bringing their hugely successful production of 'The Gondoliers' to Penge on 20th September. They have some spaces available for experienced singers to join the chorus and help to raise funds for charity the Disasters Emergency Committee. You will be singing alongside top professionals, so you must know the opera, and be able to sing your part confidently.
There'll be a top-and-tail rehearsal 4pm - 5.30pm before the concert at 7pm. For more information and to apply, please go to:
